After an incredibly successful stint as the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, which resulted in four NBA titles won in the Bay Area, Bob Myers decided to leave the storied NBA franchise before the start of the 2023-24 season.
It was a surprising move by Myers, who was expected to draw considerable interest from teams around the league that had an opening for a general manager, as he’s considered to be the best in the business at what he does.
Ironically enough, instead of jumping onto another NBA team to help build up another franchise, Myers chose to join ESPN as an analyst, which he’s done a decent job of so far.
However, it seems that Myers isn’t content with what he’s doing currently, as he could jump leagues entirely, going from the NBA to the NFL in hopes of being successful in that league.
On Sunday, Myers was spotted on the field at Levi’s Stadium ahead of the NFC Championship Game between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers via 49ers on NBCS.
Recently, it was reported that Myers had agreed to join the struggling Washington Commanders franchise to assist in their coaching search, with the team being sold to Josh Harris and his owner’s group before the start of the 2023 campaign.
Myers and the Commanders’ front office have their work cut out for them during the NFL offseason, with the team being one of only two teams that fired their head coach and still need to hire a new one.
The Seattle Seahawks are the other team looking to fill the void left by Pete Carroll taking a different role with the franchise.
