How quickly things change in the world of the NFL.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was expected to join the Las Vegas Raiders as their new offensive coordinator.
Then, Saturday morning, word came from the desert that Kingsbury had withdrawn his name from the position.
Rumors are now circulating that Kingsbury will head east to become the OC of the Washington Commanders.
With Kingsbury out of the picture, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler posted on Twitter that the Raiders are looking at three candidates.
According to Fowler, Vegas is interested in Luke Getsy, Eric Bieniemy, and Pep Hamilton, although Hamilton might be interviewing for a different role with the organization.
Getsy began coaching in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers in 2014.
He worked on the offensive side of the ball with Green Bay for the next several years except for a one-year stint with Mississippi State in 2018.
After returning to the Packers in 2020, Getsy was the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears for the past two seasons.
Bieniemy is well known in NFL coaching circles for his work with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.
The former NFL running back spent nine years playing before becoming a coach.
He landed in KC in 2013 as the running backs coach and then graduated to offensive coordinator in 2018.
Bieniemy directed the Chiefs offense and won two Super Bowls with the franchise before leaving for the Commanders OC job in 2023.
Hamilton has spent the past few decades as a collegiate and professional coach.
Most recently, he was the passing game coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and OC of the Houston Texans.
