Kansas City is getting high praise for one of its signings this offseason.
In fact, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz considers the Chiefs’ addition of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown as a “gold mind” of a find.
Schultz posted a video to Twitter proclaiming Kansas City’s signing as the second-best NFL offseason move thus far.
“This is the perfect move for the Chiefs,” Schultz said.
The Bleacher Report reporter sees Brown’s speed as the missing piece of the Kansas City offense.
“This guy is going to infuse some JETS into the Chiefs’ offense,” Schultz emphatically said.
Schultz said that Brown is still able to run a 4.3-second 40-yard dash.
Brown should be able to collect at least 1,100 yards receiving and close to double-digit touchdowns, Schultz added of his potential in the new offense.
Kansas City signed Brown to a one-year, $7 million deal in March.
The Chiefs are the third team for Brown in his six-year NFL career.
Previously, Brown played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens.
Brown’s 2021 season with Baltimore proved to be his best as a pro, securing 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
Schultz noted how potent Brown can become when he is slotted next to Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce in Kansas City next season.
Adding a speedy wide receiver will give Patrick Mahomes a missing weapon from this year’s squad as the Chiefs attempt to become the first NFL franchise to win three-straight Super Bowls.
Schultz added that Brown could be in line for a significant contract extension next season or even sign a lucrative contract with another team after a breakout performance in 2024.
