The Tennessee Titans had a frustrating 2023 season that saw them go 6-11 and miss the playoffs, but they have a new head coach in Brian Callahan and at least a kernel of hope that they can do better this fall.
The one byproduct of their miserable season is the fact that they will have the No. 7 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and while they likely won’t get to draft one of the top quarterback prospects, they should be able to draft an elite player at another position.
One man who could be available is University of Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, and he said if it were up to him, he would want Tennessee to draft him, per @JakeAndBall on Twitter.
Bowers is originally from Napa, California, which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but he decided to head to the South to play his college ball.
At Georgia, he helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back College Football Playoff National Championships in his first two seasons while earning All-American honors, as well as the John Mackey Award for being the NCAA’s top tight end.
In three seasons, he put up a total of 2,538 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns, and he even added five touchdowns on the ground.
The big question surrounding the Titans is the upcoming free agency of star running back Derrick Henry — while he continues to play strong football, his production has fallen off since his magical 2020 campaign in which he ran for 2,027 yards.
If Henry leaves, perhaps Bowers could at least somewhat help replace the firepower he would be taking with him to his new team.
