The Dallas Cowboys have some work to do in the offseason to bolster their roster in hopes of advancing further in the postseason.

Dallas bowed out earlier than expected after they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round, and now must go back to the drawing board.

The Cowboys have key pieces like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in place, but the offensive line is an open question.

Left tackle will most likely need to be addressed because the team is reportedly prepared to part ways with long-time starter Tyron Smith.

Smith has been a pillar of the offensive line since being drafted, but could find himself on a different team once free agency officially begins.

Skip Bayless admitted he’ll miss Smith but also seemed pessimistic that it changes the Cowboys’ trajectory much, via his personal Twitter account.

“The Cowboys will miss Tyron Smith at times. He couldn’t stay healthy, but when he WAS healthy, he was the best LT in football. Still, having him produced what in the playoffs? Having Dak, CeeDee and Micah has produced what in the playoffs?” Bayless tweeted.

When fully healthy, Smith was nearly impossible to get around, which opened up the offense for Prescott.

However, to Bayless’ point, it didn’t result in much postseason success and now Dallas needs to figure out who’ll succeed Smith at left tackle.

Fortunately, the 2024 NFL Draft class features plenty of tackle prospects so the team should strongly consider going after someone with one of their early picks to make up for the loss of Smith.
