Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10
Last week had its ups and downs for fantasy owners. Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud broke the league’s rookie record for yards passing in a single game with 470 yards in Houston’s win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Unfortunately, week 9 was not without injuries. Notable injuries include Daniel Jones (torn ACL), Dallas Goedert (forearm fracture), Josh Downs (knee), Josh Palmer (knee), Cam Akers (torn achilles), and Christian Watson (concussion/chest/back). My advice for fantasy owners navigating injuries is to not fret as week 10 has a bunch of favorable matchups.
Here are my recommendations for Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10.
Jared Goff
Lions @ Chargers | 4:05 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 3.1%
Goff and the Lions offense are fresh off a bye coming into week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers defense. In the Lions last outing, Goff scored 12.68 fantasy points in their win over the Las Vegas Raiders in week 8. This week, Goff and company travel to face one of the league’s worst passing defenses that ranks last in fantasy points given up to opposing quarterbacks. In conclusion, it is safe to start Goff this week and he should be considered a high-end QB1 in this matchup.
Will Levis
Titans @ Buccaneers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 23.8%
Levis didn’t have the hottest game, only putting up just over 8 points in fantasy leagues in the Tennessee Titans loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Thursday night. Fortunately, the Titans travel to Tampa where they face the defense that just allowed Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud to score 41.8 fantasy points for owners in week 9. I like this matchup and believe Levis will bounce back and effectively perform as a mid-end to high-end QB1 this week.
Rhamondre Stevenson
Colts @ Patriots | 9:30 am EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 74.9%
Stevenson put on a show for fantasy team owners on Sunday, scoring 22.9 fantasy points in PPR leagues in the New England Patriots loss to the Washington Commanders 20-17. This week Stevenson has a good matchup against the Indianapolis Colts defense that is weak against the run and should be considered a high-end RB2 to low-end RB1 in week 10.
Aaron Jones
Packers @ Steelers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 63.6%
Jones showed why he is the heart and soul of the Green Bay Packers offense scoring 17.9 fantasy points in PPR leagues in their win over the Los Angeles Rams 20-3 on Sunday. The Packers offense is on the road this week to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers defense that is weak against the run. Last week in the Steelers win over the Titans, Titans running back Derrick Henry scored 19.2 fantasy points in PPR leagues for fantasy owners I fully expect Jones to receive a large amount of carries on Sunday, exposing the run defense with a high chance of scoring double-digit points for fantasy owners. Jones should be considered a high-end RB2 in week 10.
DeAndre Hopkins
Titans @ Buccaneers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 63.2%
This is possibly the hottest stack of the week with starting Levis and Hopkins against the Tampa Bay defense that allowed Stroud (41.2 fantasy points) and Dell (29.6 fantasy points PPR leagues) to have the best game of their rookie season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense looks extremely “soft” and is vulnerable to another offensive onslaught. If Hopkins has a chance to top his three-touchdown performance from two weeks ago, this matchup is it! Start Hopkins as your WR1 with confidence in week 10.
Jahan Dotson
Commanders @ Seahawks | 4:25 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 19.7%
Dotson has scored one touchdown the past two games and will most likely receive another one this week as he develops deeper chemistry with quarterback Sam Howell. The second-year receiver is second in targets behind Terry McLaurin and has seen an uptick in performance over the course of this season. The Seahawks defense is average at best and the Washington offense has been playing well these past few weeks. Dotson should be locked in your flex spot this week as he has potential to score double-digit points in this matchup.
Dalton Schultz
Texans @ Bengals | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 51.3%
Schultz put up monster numbers for fantasy owners, scoring 27 points in PPR leagues which ranked the highest of the tight end position in week 9. He has another favorable matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals defense that just allowed Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid to score 16.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues on Sunday night. Schultz is a must-start and should be considered a mid-end to high-end TE1 in week 10.
Deshaun Watson
Browns @ Ravens | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 21.7%
Watson played well for fantasy owners in week 9 scoring 18.96 points in the Cleveland Browns win over the Arizona Cardinals 27-0. Unfortunately, he faces the Baltimore Ravens defense that has been shutting down quarterbacks this season only allowing 12.0 fantasy points per game. My recommendation is to sit Watson in week 10.
Najee Harris
Packers @ Steelers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 46.2%
Harris scored 15.6 fantasy points in PPR leagues for fantasy owners last Thursday night in the Steelers win over the Titans. One thing I have noticed this season is that Harris is extremely touchdown dependent and has not performed consistently. The Packers defense has been good against the run the past few weeks and I do not expect Harris to put up big numbers. My recommendation is to sit Harris in week 10.
Tyler Lockett
Commanders @ Seahawks | 4:25 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 43.0%
The Seahawks offense looked horrendous in their embarrassing loss to the Baltimore Ravens 37-3. Quarterback Geno Smith played so poorly that head coach Pete Carroll had to reassure the media that Smith would remain the starter after such a bad defeat. Unfortunately, the talented veteran wide receiver was a casualty of that poor performance, only scoring 6.2 fantasy points in PPR leagues. Until something changes, my recommendation is to sit Lockett for the foreseeable future.
Luke Musgrave
Packers @ Steelers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday
ESPN Starting Percentage: 14.1%
Musgrave was a vital part in the Packers win over the Rams on Sunday, but he faces a bad matchup against the Steelers defense in week 10. I believe the Packers will run the ball much more often than not in this particular matchup and I recommend sitting Musgrave this week.
