Analyst Names The Top-5 Teams In The AFC

The AFC has been better than the NFC over the last couple of years, and of course, the Kansas City Chiefs have come out of the AFC to win the Super Bowl championship in each of the last two seasons.

The $1 million question now is if they will become the first team to win three-straight Super Bowls, or if another team in either conference will at least temporarily end their dynasty.

Emmanuel Acho ranked his top-five AFC teams for the coming season on FS1’s “Speak,” and while he had Kansas City at No. 1, there was at least one surprise elsewhere.

Acho had the upstart Houston Texans, who have been very aggressive this offseason, as his second-best team in the conference.

The Texans added star pass rusher Danielle Hunter, a four-time Pro Bowler, in free agency, and just days ago, they sent shockwaves across the league by trading for four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

They also now have running back Joe Mixon, yet another former Pro Bowler, whom they acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Losing Mixon is perhaps one reason Acho has the Bengals at just third on his list, and there is always the possibility they trade wide receiver Tee Higgins, who received their franchise tag this offseason.

The Baltimore Ravens, who were expected by many to win it all but lost in the AFC Championship Game, are fourth on the list, while the Miami Dolphins, who lost some key defenders this offseason, are in fifth.

Given the parity throughout the conference, there could be some surprises this December and January.
