Jim Schwartz Was Asked If He Would Like To Be A Head Coach Again

It could be argued that no other team in the NFL faced more adversity than the Cleveland Browns, who had to deal with the season-ending injuries of star running back Nick Chubb and star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Once both Chubb and Watson went down and were not expected to make it back during the 2023 campaign, the Browns were written off by many pundits and critics, but the team has been able to endure due to the impressive play of its defense led by potential NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.

Although Garrett gets the bulk of the credit for how well the defense plays on a weekly basis, much the way superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald gets a lot of recognition for his play with the Los Angeles Rams, offensive coordinator Jim Schwartz deserves a lot of credit for the team’s success this season.

Schwartz, who is a former NFL head coach, will be a hot commodity during the NFL offseason, especially with so many coaching vacancies expected.

This week, Schwartz was asked about his NFL future and said how happy he is with the Browns, but left the door open to be a head coach again in this league via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

“I’m really happy here.  I love this organization. I love the city of Cleveland.  But I’d say this: In any job that you do, you always aspire to the top of the profession. And I’m no different there,” Schwartz said.

With all the attention and potential job offers he’ll likely get during the NFL offseason, it’s a smart move by Schwartz to keep his options open, even if he’s truly happy in Cleveland.

As for the Browns, Cleveland will look to finish the NFL regular season on a strong note before heading into the NFL playoffs, where the team could be headed for an AFC North showdown with the division-rival Baltimore Ravens.
