The Buffalo Bills seem to have entered the wilderness after trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs and losing No. 2 wide receiver Gabe Davis in free agency weeks ago.

They were in a situation where they needed to nail at least a couple of the draft picks they had in order to replace the production of Diggs and Davis.

While Buffalo took wideout Keon Coleman with the No. 33 pick, Joy Taylor said on FS1’s “Speak” that their draft strategy was “confusing” because they didn’t seem to be aggressive in trying to get a stud wideout.

Coleman isn’t one of the headline-makers in this year’s draft, but he did score 11 touchdowns and gain 658 yards on 50 catches last season with Florida State.

In 2021, during his freshman year of college, he had a brief stint with Michigan State University’s basketball team.

He isn’t super fast (he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine), but he can get separation from defenders and add yards after the catch.

The reason the Bills didn’t end up with a first-round draft pick was because they traded the No. 28 selection to the Kansas City Chiefs, which the Chiefs used on speedster wideout Xavier Worthy.

The Bills have been criticized for essentially handing the two-time defending Super Bowl champions a threat at wideout, even though they needed one even more than Kansas City did.

Five of their picks were used on defensive players, while two of them were used on offensive tackles, which adds to the confusion surrounding their strategy in this year’s draft.
