The Houston Texans appear set for the next decade after nailing their first two picks of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Texans selected C.J. Stroud No. 2 overall and then made an aggressive move to trade up and take Will Anderson Jr. with the No. 3 overall pick.

It was a sign that Houston was intent on finding franchise pillars and they might have hit the jackpot with both Stroud and Anderson.

Stroud was a revelation during the 2023 NFL season as he showed poise and command of the offense and wound up leading the league in average passing yards per game.

Meanwhile, Anderson established himself as a force off the edge for the Texans’ young but fast and aggressive defensive unit.

Although Houston’s season ended in the AFC Divisional Round they should be proud of their rookies who made franchise history by being named to the 2024 Pro Bowl Games via the team’s official Twitter account.

“First time in franchise history with two rookies in the Pro Bowl games.”

Stroud and Anderson were well-deserving of the Pro Bowl nods considering their production in their rookie seasons.

In 15 games, Stroud recorded 4,108 passing yards and 23 touchdowns against just five interceptions.

Anderson also appeared in fifteen regular season games and recorded seven sacks and 29 solo tackles.

The duo is clearly talented and showed no signs of nerves or jitters in high-stakes games, an encouraging sign for the team going forward.

Armed with more draft picks and cap space, the Texans are in a great position to add to the roster and make a serious postseason run in 2024.
